Dr. L. Yu Lin (Louie) is a full-time professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Christian Brothers University (CBU). Dr. Lin received a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati (UC) and a Ph.D. from the University of Central Floridan (UCF). At UC and UCF, Dr. Lin worked on a Cincinnati Runoff Model and a Stormwater Management and Design Aid (SMADA) model.

At CBU, Dr. Lin teaches environmental and water resources engineering courses, including hydraulic, hydrology, water resources engineering, open channel hydraulics, environmental engineering, solid and hazardous waste management, and air pollution. In the past six years, Dr. Lin has worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, to develop hydraulics and hydrological models using HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-6T, and GIS software for water supply and flood control. He has received a Commander’s Award for Public Service from the Department of Army, the Memphis Joint Engineers Council Achievement Award, and the Public Service Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.

In addition, Dr. Lin is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
