| The Department of Mathematics offers a four year program leading to either a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree in mathematics.
A mathematics major may obtain a dual degree in mathematics and computer science.
A mathematics major may obtain a
license to teach
high school in Tennessee with an
arts
degree.
The department has a multidisciplinary program that combines mathematics with bioinformatics and biology
or chemistry and another that combines mathematics with forensics.

Placement Test
Some students may need to take an on-line
placement test. The general education course in mathematics has a prerequisite of a college level basic algebra course or passing a placement test.
