At Christian Brothers University, the safety of our students, faculty, visitors, and staff is always at the top of our agenda.  With the support of other departments, there is a continuing effort in keeping this campus safe and secure.  However, a truly safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation of all faculty, students, and staff.  We hope that you will take advantage of the information and resources within this site to help foster a safe environment for you and the University Campus.

With all that is happening in our world these days, it is an appropriate time to take a moment to reflect on being prepared for emergencies on our campus.  CBU follows an Emergency Preparedness Plan that is evaluated and revised each year. This plan is available on this Web site or in the Office of Campus Safety.

The safety of our students, faculty and staff is always a top priority and the University is committed to careful and thoughtful decisions and actions regarding campus safety. We hope everyone takes his or her responsibilities seriously as well in being prepared for emergency situations. Review your daily routine and schedules. Know your surroundings and the procedures that are in place regarding not only campus wide emergency situations, but also those emergencies that might affect specific buildings or locations. Make sure you are familiar with the accepted evacuation plans for classroom buildings and residence halls.

Resident students should be especially aware of emergency procedures for residence halls. It's a good idea to review the list of suggested items to have on hand in residence hall suites or rooms. A listing of those items is included in the Emergency Preparedness Plan mentioned in this letter.
